Why Treat Health
Needing care is hard enough. Today the first step is often a phone queue, a booking system and the same story told three times before a doctor even sees it. Treat Health changes that first step: you describe your concern in your own words, our AI asks the follow-up questions a doctor would ask, and a licensed doctor reviews the whole picture and decides on the care. Prescriptions and records go straight to Kanta, Finland's national health archive.
The AI never diagnoses or decides; doctors do. That line, and the privacy of every patient, shape how we build everything. We started in Finland in 2026 because its strong public healthcare, Kanta and strong digital identification are the best foundation to build on. Our goal is that getting the right care in minutes becomes the normal expectation everywhere.
The role
Right now, agentic frontend engineering and agentic mobile app development are the most important criteria for us. We still expect you to work across the stack, with our assistance and tooling. You'll shape not just the product but how we work: our engineering practices, our culture and the people we hire as we grow. Most of your time goes to what patients and doctors see and use:
- Building the patient experience and the doctors' tools end to end, from Figma designs to production, in React and Phoenix LiveView.
- Building our native mobile apps in Swift and Kotlin.
- Growing our own component library, shared by every surface, so that each screen is consistent, fast and accessible.
- Making things that work for everyone: screen readers, keyboards, small phones, and Finnish, Swedish and English.
- Working across the stack when the product needs it: APIs, data and infrastructure.
How we work
- Stack: Elixir, Phoenix LiveView, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, GCP, Cloudflare, Rust and Nix, with Swift and Kotlin for mobile.
- AI-native engineering: Claude is part of everyday work, from planning and coding to review. We care about how well you direct AI agents, not how fast you type.
- Design: Figma, with design and engineering working closely on one component library.
- Quality: continuous integration on every change, tests that protect real behaviour, independent review, and decisions written down as architecture decision records.
- Privacy and security first: health data stays in the EU, every sign-in uses strong identification, and patient data never ends up in logs or URLs.
- Small team, high trust: you own problems from start to finish, with real influence on what we build.
You
- Have shipped and maintained serious production software, and care about detail, performance and accessibility.
- Are strongest in agentic frontend or mobile app development, and ready to work across the rest of the stack.
- Direct AI coding agents through real work every day, while keeping your own judgement about what good looks like.
- Want the responsibility of building in healthcare, where clarity and trust matter more than features.
Compensation and location
- Salary: €4,500–6,500 per month.
- Equity: 0.25–0.75%.
- Location: full-time and on site in Helsinki. Working on site is a must.
- Right to work: we can't offer relocation, housing or visa support at this time. You must already be able to work legally in Finland.
